Day for a Sail – Christiansted Harbor 1979

This 20″ x 40″ oil was painted in 1979. The view is from the old Christiansted Fort (the color of the fort was red back then). It captured the sailboats in the Christiansted Harbor at the time. The Hotel on the Cay was lush and green and a very famous schooner boat, “The Bounty” was captured leaving the harbor. All the boats where real and I’ll bet some will remember the Chinese Junk boat that was anchored at the dock.
