Downtown from Rock (2004)

This 22″ x 28″ oil painting was painted in 2004 from Auditorium Shores, siting on a piece of concrete that is positioned just off shore of the river. When I started painting the river was low and I could get to this piece of concrete that was sticking out of the water to avoid some trees that were in the way of my view. A week later my spot was covered with water. I waited all summer to find the right time to finish this picture, when finally the water went down long enough for me to sit back on that rock. Framed in a gold frame.
