Austin Skyline from Auditorium Shores (2004)

This 30″ x 40″ oil painting was painted in 2004 from Auditorium Shores, downtown at the river. It is very much similar to the one painted in 1988 and 1992 but I’m standing back to the first tier near the handicap ramp. There are definitely some big differences in the landmarks. The First Street bridge is brand new, the CSC Buildings and the beautiful Frost building. The Frost building is an amazing soft blue color that changes throughout the day, especially at sunset. The trees and fauna along the river and the walking trail have really grown. This is a tough spot to paint from especially in the hot sun. I was blessed with a lot of cloud cover this past year to paint this one. I have this painting framed in a beautiful gold frame.
